Let us pretend that I stand before you: James Baldwin

High up on my list of people with whom I would like to have had dinner.

High on my would have wished dinner list too.

So many things to do when I'm dead.

I'd never heard or seen him speak previous. A mesmerizing man. Imagine spending time with him in his West Village diggs. Imagine greater NYC if you could have experienced him guiding you through it.

I am currently reading, "Notes from a Native Son" by James Baldwin

a fierce piercing series of essays that relate an experience, a reality that is foreign to me ...

and yet it is my story

Baldwin calls the American white-black relationship a marriage

this is the raw searing black american experience during the civil rights movement

at times the book is overwhelming
